The Polar Express train ride was an amazing experience! The kids loved it and it was amazing seeing the happiness on the kids faces. We did the coach tickets and the sees were big and comfortable. The actors were great and put on a good show.
Great place to take the family if you are a train enthusiast. Shout out to Stephen(Esteban) for taking the time to explain the history of the museum and showing the model train setup! He was very kind and very helpful!

We attended Polar Express train ride. We enjoyed it a great deal. Felt like we traveled back in time on the historic train car. We didn't get to see much because the weather was yucky and we tried not to be outside with the little ones. Plan to go back when the weather is nice to see what all they have to see.
They have a huge inventory of trains and cabooses in various states of restoration. It's all free to see and only the train ride requires a fee. Purchasing the tickets online saved time in the small ticket/gift structure. There are no bathrooms or drinks on the train, so plan accordingly. This is a good family activity, but children less than a year old probably should be discouraged. On very hot days, the AC in the old cars just does manage to keep up marginally.
Free entry!!! Lots of cars to see and you are able to actually go on more than a few of them. Cool historic artifacts with descriptions as well. I saw them setting up for a kids bday party which is cool that they can do that there.
Daughter and I took the kiddos out for a first tome visit and had a great time. Would like to go back in the fall tome to enjoy the fall foliage.
Fantastic place, so much rolling stock to see. They are 100% sales and donations funded, no aid from the state or federal. If you like trains, even just a little, this place is a must see. General admission is free, but they do sell excursion tickets. The gift shop is also a fantastic place to visit. They do accept donations by card in $5 increments via a "tip jar" located in the gift shop. If the model train exhibit is locked, just ask museum staff and they'll open it for you
